eventually screen printing and designing my own fabric.

I began reading the book 'Perfume', as I have never heard of the story myself, and I would have not know where to start off for ideas for the book cover. The story is about a boy who can identify every scent, but he has a fascination with the scent of virgin women, in which he murders, an wraps up so he can soak up the scent.
This was a poster I designed in my second year of university when I was briefed to make a book based on a long paragraph from the story of 'Ulysses'. I got to choose any theme I wanted, so I chose to go with a musical theme so it would express all the feelings going on in the book. The Illustrations were all drawn by myself in which I used in the book.
This project was briefed through email from the print exchange, where they asked us to produce a poster in which symbolises 'Home'. I chose to do illustrated typography because it makes the poster look catch and homely. I came up with the quote myself, because when your a student you stick to eating beans, noodles, and jacket potatoes. But when you go home its like entering another planet with mums home cooking tasting so so good.
This was the first project which started my third and final year of university. It's a competition brief set by RSA Design in which we had to come up with a good design for next years stamps. There were two themes which were 'Biodiversity' and 'Country Definitives'. I chose to go with country definitive's, in which I had to base my design on something to do with England, Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland. My big idea was to go with how Great Britain used to be a very rural country when it came to farming. I had to produce 16 stamps overall. I chose to base my animals on, Horses, Pigs, Cows and Sheep.
For the 'Alice's Adventures In Wonderland' I chose to play with typography for this book cover because it was mentioned in the brief to be clever. I made the letters myself which took me a total for 4 days to create. I specifically chose the fabrics myself so it would appeal to the children audience as well as the adult audience. With the photography I originally wanted to hand the letters off a tree so it helps start the story off, but I could not find a suitable tree so I went with a very high hedge in which had a few holes through to go behind it, I thought this would be a good idea because it reminded of the White Rabbit, with Alice following him down the whole. With the rest of the typography on the front cover I did not want to stick to using a typeface on my mac, so I thought it would look even more playful illustrating the typography myself.
